Classroom Management
My goal is to help your child do well in the third grade. In order to accomplish this, I believe that working with parents is very important. I believe that your child has a crucial role.
Our classroom rules are:
1. Listen carefully
2. Follow Directions
3. Raise Your Hand to Speak
4. Respect Others
5. Always Do Your Best
The agenda and STAR card will inform you if there is a concern with your child's behavior in the classroom. Please check your child's agenda daily. When I have to address your child's behavior, he/she stops other students from learning.
Consequences for choosing not to comply:
Any student that continually interferes with the learning of others and my ability to teach will be sent to another teacher’s classroom for time out along with calling the parent.
First time: Warning
Second time: Teacher will write in STAR card
Third time Teacher will write in STAR card and student has silent lunch
Fourth time: Silent lunch and five minutes lost of recess
Fifth time: Silent lunch and lost of recess (Parent will be called)
Encouragement Plan:
Students will be verbally acknowledged for positive behavior, receive STAR bucks, stickers, and a treat. Additional time on the computer will also be awarded.
Please discuss with your child the importance of following the classroom rules. If your child continues to interfere with the learning that is going on in the classroom, I will need to schedule a conference with you and your child to discuss your child's progress in the classroom and his/her interference with my ability to teach. An administrator may also be asked to attend the conference.
Together, we will make a difference in ensuring that your child is successful in third grade.
